User: Seat vs. No Seat

User permissions depending on the assigment of a Seat

A Seat in Legartis unlocks productive work for a person.

Basic Principle

  • Inviting is free and unlimited. Newly invited people initially join as view-only, which does not consume a Seat.

  • A Seat is only required when someone actually needs to upload/review contracts and use the Legal Agent.

  • Seats are assigned separately in the user settings – independent of role and permissions.

how to: Assigning a Seat to a user

  1. Have the person in the Workspace – the person must already be a user of your Legartis Workspace. If not, invite them first.

  2. Assign Seat – assign a free Seat in the person's user settings by clicking the toggle.

  3. Result – the person can now upload and review contracts as well as use the Legal Agent.

  4. No Seat available? – release an existing Seat or upgrade the plan (or, for Enterprise, arrange an appointment with Legartis).

You release a Seat by withdrawing it from the user – the space then becomes available for another person.

Distinction

  • Roles regulate who manages the Workspace (Member / Admin / Billing Admin).

  • Permissions regulate which individual functions a person may use.

  • Seats – where they apply – unlock productive work.
